Currently there are bills pending in the House and Senate to assist the disabled children of military families. The “Disabled Military Child Protection Act” would make it easier for the disabled children of veterans to draw Supplemental Security Income benefits.
Currently, the receipt of certain Veteran’s benefits disqualifies some of these disabled children from drawing SSI. This is particularly troubling because SSI comes with health insurance coverage from Medicaid. We strongly support the efforts of these congressmen to change the law to help these military families. We encourage you to read up more on S.1076.H.R.2249.
