Many veterans are wondering if the government shutdown will impact their veterans’ benefits. At this time services to veterans will not be impacted. The Veterans Administration will continue claims processing and payments in compensation and pension through late October. If the government shutdown is prolonged then there will likely be a suspension in claims processing at that time. Further, all VA medical facilities are open and fully operational.
